Sir Pip was four feet tall, which was short for a knight, but she made up for it in determination. Her armour was dented in several interesting places, and her sword was a stick she had found, which she had named Trusty. The problem was the dragon in the lower field. It was not a scary dragon — that was actually the problem. It was small, green, and seemed to be crying. Pip approached carefully, hand on Trusty. "Hello," she said. The dragon looked up. It had a round head and very large eyes and tears running down its scaly cheeks. "What is wrong?" Pip asked. She had trained for many kinds of dragon encounters. Crying had not been covered. "I cannot breathe fire," the dragon said sadly. "I have tried all day. Only smoke comes out." Pip sat down in the grass. This was a problem she understood. She had spent a whole week trying to do a cartwheel with no success. She had cried about it in private. "Did you practise?" she asked. "All day," said the dragon. "Then it will come," said Pip firmly. "These things come when they are ready. You cannot force them." The dragon …
Only smoke comes out."
Pip sat down in the grass. This was a problem she understood. She had spent a whole week trying to do a cartwheel with no success. She had cried about it in private.
"Did you practise?" she asked.
"All day," said the dragon.
"Then it will come," said Pip firmly. "These things come when they are ready. You cannot force them."
The dragon wiped its eyes. "Do you really think so?"
"I know so." Pip had eventually done the cartwheel. It had been lopsided, but it had happened.
They sat together in the lower field as the sun went down, Pip's armour catching the last of the light. She told the dragon about Trusty and all the dents in her armour, and the dragon told her about the time it had sneezed smoke into a beehive and had to apologise to bees, which was harder than it sounds.
By the time the stars came out, they were firm friends.
"See you tomorrow?" the dragon asked.
"Same field," said Pip. She walked home through the evening, Trusty on her shoulder and the warm glow of a new friendship in her chest.

How does DreamWeave work?
You fill out a short form about your child — their name, age, and interests. Each evening, our AI writes them a completely new story, sends it to your email, and saves it in your private library. No app to open, no ads, no screen time — just a story waiting when you need it.
What age range is DreamWeave designed for?
Ages 3 to 12. The stories automatically adapt to your child's age bucket — shorter, simpler sentences for toddlers; richer language and deeper plots for tweens. You can update their age anytime as they grow.
Can my child request stories about Knights specifically?
Yes — every night. When you set up your child's profile, Knights becomes one of their core interests. From that point on, every story is woven around that theme (plus their name, personality, and anything else you tell us). You can also swap interests anytime from your account.
